The pork industry in Nova Scotia is regulated under the Natural Products Act. For more information, please visit the links below.
If you are marketing more than 25 hogs per year, you are required to be a Pork Nova Scotia (PNS) licensee under the Natural Products Act. Being a PNS licensee means you must report and remit levy on hogs marketed. Additionally, by being a PNS licensee, you will receive a reduced price on pig tags (purchased from PNS), as well as have an opportunity to participate in member meetings.
